Following the success of our model parental leave policy, quite a few councillors raised with us a need for guidance for Labour Groups and councils on how best to support councillors who have child care and dependent commitments.
As a result, we’ve written guidance on what good support for councillors with these commitments looks like, including the type of meetings that should be covered, the rate of pay that is covered and the number of children or other dependents that this covers.
