This project undertaken in 2017 sought to develop a masterplan for a strategic site in the Borough, that would inform the content of the evolving Local Plan strategic site allocation. Using the ‘charrette’, or community design workshop approach, the project engaged the community in the place making of the site to produce a realistic and deliverable plan. The report outlines the background of the project, the execution and the learning points, and could still be used by other Local Councils to learn about community design workshop led master planning.
