Being a member of the LGA Independent Group

The LGA Independent Group brings together independent councillors, Residents Association councillors, Green Party councillors, Plaid Cymru councillors and councillors from smaller parties whose councils are members of the Local Government Association. It is our aim to bring together our members to debate and discuss key issues to form a genuine local councillor view that can be represented to the LGA, with the needs of our residents as our priority, rather than party politics.

The LGA Independent Group operates under the LGA Independent Group Constitution and the LGA’s code of conduct, articles of association, business plan and policies.

The LGA Independent Group actively supports the LGA’s Civility in Public Life programme and the Debate not Hate campaign.
