The Leadership Academy is the LGA's flagship development programme for councillors in leadership positions. The programme is recognised by The Institute of Leadership and Management, the UK's leading award-winning body for leadership and management.
Leadership Essentials
'Leadership Essentials' is a series of series of programmes and workshops’ designed as themed learning opportunities for councillors. Each event concentrates on a specific portfolio area or a specific theme.
Focus on Leadership
The Focus on Leadership series provides seminars and events to help councillors in their existing roles and provide a bridge to more senior leadership positions.

Training Programmes
We offer a range of in-house training courses on a variety of topics such as member/officer relations, community leadership and chairing skills. These are usually 1.5 - 2-hour sessions delivered in person or remotely and will be tailored to suit the needs of the council.
