Resetting the relationship between local and national government. Read our Local Government White Paper
You will find information to support commissioners with the development of their own knowledge, skills and insight, including a directory of training opportunities.
We are committed to helping develop commissioners’ knowledge and understanding of successful commissioning practise, as well as the practical skills and ‘softer’ skills that enable this.
We run a wide range of workshops and webinars to share best practice. The areas of focus and content of these sessions are informed by our ongoing interaction with Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) regions and through our direct work with individual councils, which help us identify the support that will be of greatest value to commissioners across the country.
Any sessions we run will be promote through our various networks, via the ADASS regional commissioning networks or on our Events page.
If you have any questions about our upcoming information sessions or workshops, or areas you would like future development support to focus on, please contact us at [email protected].
Beyond the work of our team, Partners in Care and Health has developed a range of information and resources aimed at supporting commissioners, which you may find useful.
They are:
- data and intelligence
- support for autistic people and people with a learning disability
- integrated care and commissioning
- workforce
- digital transformation
Commissioners may also wish to review the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) webpage which links to their annual surveys of directors across the country and a wide range of reports and research they have produced.
External resources
Outside of our resources, commissioners may wish to review advice and guidance produced by the following organisations to help shape and inform their strategic commissioning approach.
Please note sharing these links is not an endorsement from PCH for any specific material, blogs or reports posted on these sites, but simply to provide a convenient route to accessing material for commissioners.
Courses and qualifications
There are also a range of training courses and development opportunities run by other organisations which may be of interest to commissioners.
