Supporting positive transitions is important for all children but in particular children with SEND. This section aims to collate resources which support specifically planned transitions, from a strategic to an operational approach.

Dingley's Promise delivered strategic support to over 30 Local Authority areas over the last 7 years. These areas were supported to coordinator strategic approach to transitions for children with SEND, following a self evaluation and action planning process which considered strategic games and ownership, joint working between early years providers and schools, ensuring the child remain central throughout, partnership with parents and carers, and data driven transitions. Several webinars were held to celebrate the good practice identified on progress made.

"Kids' Holistic Approach to School Readiness provides a comprehensive school readiness program to children with SEND, focusing on social, emotional, and educational development. This service worked closely with local schools, ensuring that children with SEND were included in mainstream education as early as possible. The program involved both direct work with children and collaborative efforts with parents and schools to ensure each child’s needs were met."
