Throughout 2023 One Public Estate is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.
One Public Estate (OPE) launched on 25 June 2013 as a pilot with just 12 council areas and a handful of government departments. To date OPE has supported over 800 projects, spanning 98 per cent of English Councils, 12 government departments and hundreds of public sector stakeholders.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support and energy of our OPE public sector partners. Throughout 2023 we are celebrating the places, projects and people who have co-located public services and unlocked the value of public sector assets, including land for homes.
We kicked off our 10 year celebrations at UKREiiF 2023, where the team launched our anniversary brochure, sat on panel discussions, and held a celebration breakfast with keynote speeches from Mark Chivers, Chief Government Property Officer, and Dr Aileen Jones, Director for Strategic Delivery for Liverpool City Region CA. We also spoke to hundreds of attendees from councils, government departments and development companies
We showcased the programme and some of our standout projects at the LGA Annual Conference on 4-6 July with a session in the Innovation Zone. You can see videos of successful projects via the links below.
- Lincoln Emergency Service Hub
- Mildenhall Hub, Suffolk
- Relocatable modular housing, Dorset
- Regenerating Kirkby Town Centre, Knowsley
- Northwick Park Masterplan, Brent
We have produced a brochure celebrating 10 years of One Public Estate and showcasing OPE and Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF) projects from across England, which you can read below.
